What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is a comfortable, removable alternative to metal braces. It involves a process that uses transparent, soft, plastic trays that are formed to fit over your teeth causing gradual changes to the relative positioning of them.
The plastic trays are invisible, comfortable, removable, and perhaps most importantly, won’t make you feel like an overgrown teenager the way traditional metal braces do. The best part is that most people won’t even know you are working on straightening your teeth!
How does it Work?
Basically, Dr. Molinar takes a series of impressions and x-rays of your teeth that are then used by the system to create a precise treatment plan. The plan includes a strategy for shifting the relative position of teeth by plastic aligners that apply pressure in the appropriate direction for each tooth. Dr. Molinar will create a new set of trays for you roughly every two weeks. You wear the aligners throughout the day, only removing them to eat and brush your teeth. It’s that simple.
How Long Does it take?
Each case is different, but treatment typically spans 12 months for adult patients. The good news is that you won’t have to wait until the end of treatment to see results since the aligners are transparent.
